Adobe Acrobat Reader for the text files. Most computers have this program pre-installed. If yours doesnīt, it can be downloaded free from www.adobe.com A program to play mp3 audio files. Once again, most computers have a program that will do this pre-installed. For Windows users, Windows Media Player will work. If necessary, you can download a free mp3 player from www.winamp.com Getting Started: Put the Platiquemos disk in your computerīs CD-ROM drive, and open that drive. You should see all the files. You can either open them from the CD, or copy and paste them to your computerīs hard drive (recommended). If you have trouble opening the files this way, try starting your computerīs audio mp3 playing program (Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc. There are literally dozens of programs to play mp3 files.) Try opening the audio files from this program. For the text, open the Adobe Acrobat Reader, and open the .pdf files from there. You can then save the opened files to your hard drive. You are now set to use the program from your computer. Options for using without the computer. Text: Almost any computer printer will print the text files. You can print them as you need them by unit, or only print the pages that you need. We have tried hard to make Platiquemos useable with a minimum of reference to the text, but we realize that many folks will want to see as well as hear. Audio: You have several options for using the audio away from the computer. Option 1 - "Burn" regular audio compact disks. Most computers sold in the past few years have a compact disk "burner" built in, and software to make audio cdīs from mp3 files. Audio compact disks made this way are useable on almost any cd player. Option 2 - mp3 capable cd player. There are dozens of reasonably priced mp3 capable cd players on the market now. They range from hand-held "walkman" type players to car stereos with mp3 capable cd players. Amazon has a large selection. Option 3 - mp3 players. Platiquemos mp3 files can be loaded on any of the popular mp3 players, including the iPod. Several popular mp3 players are available from Amazon.com. x x x x x x x x
