Refund Policy for "Mixed" and "Hard Copy" versions
Refunds (for lost or damaged items, see below):
We've worked hard to provide the greatest possible amount of information about the program, including extensive samples, so that those who do buy the program will know what they're getting.
We do, however, recognize that a few (in nine years only three or four) people will not be satisfied, so we've worked hard to come up with what we believe is a fair and equitable guarantee. (None of the below applies to defects such as bad CD's, etc. We replace those free of any charge.)
In arriving at this return/refund policy, we've done quite a bit of checking on others. The complication is that digital material is easily copied (we know you wouldn't, but there are some unscrupulous people out there). Software, for example, is only returnable if the package hasn't been opened, and books are hard to copy. We've seen one case where Pimsleur offers a refund for its Level I after 60 days if you take a test (which you have to pay for), and fail to achieve a "novice" rating. The novice rating is so low that it is almost impossible to imagine anybody who has done any studying at all failing to achieve it.
Our refund guarantee applies to the "mixed" and "hard copy" versions.. If you have any doubt whether Platiquemos is right for you, we recommend that you purchase one Level (it can be any Level, not just Level I). The guarantee extends for 30 days from the date of purchase.
"Hard Copy" version. To receive a full refund, it should be returned in its original packaging, the text must be unmarked and undamaged. [Please contact us for the address to which it should be returned.] This applies to purchases made through Platiquemos. If you purchased Level I from another retailer or reseller, their return policy will apply.
"Mixed" version. Same provisions as for "hard copy" version.
While not required, we would appreciate your letting us know why you were unsatisfied with Platiquemos so that we can make further efforts to improve the program.
Please remember that this guarantee applies to the "mixed" and "hard copy" versions only. For good and sufficient reason, though, we may at our discretion apply the guarantee to other versions.
Replacement of Lost or Damaged Items:
Download: While our download service is excellent, it is possible that files can be corrupted in downloading. We strongly recommend that you check the files (a few seconds' listening to 1 or 2 audio files from each unit should be enough) as soon as possible. We also strongly recommend that you save your files to compact disk or some other medium outside your computer (3 CD's will hold the whole program) in case you have a computer crash and lose the files. If you lose files after the initial download, we will have to make a nominal charge for re-downloading to cover our expenses.
Digital Version: While we make every attempt to ensure that the CD's we send you are useable (and are successful 99.9% of the time) it is possible that you might receive an unreadable CD or CD's. We therefore recommend that you check the CD's (see above under Download) as soon as possible after receiving them. Any defective CD's will be replaced free of charge within the 30-day guarantee period. After that period, we will have to charge a nominal fee for our expenses and postage.
Mixed Version: While unlikely, it is possible that some textbooks may be improperly printed or damaged. In such case, we'll be happy to exchange it for a new book. The policy for compact disk replacement is the same as for the Digital Version above.
"Hard Copy" version. Textbooks, same policy as for Mixed Version above. We recommend that you check the Compact Disks as soon as possible after receiving them. Replacement of faulty CD's will be completely free for 30 days; after that a nominal fee will have to be charged.
None of our refund/return policies are graven in stone. If you believe an exception should be made in your case, let us know the reasons and we'll try to be as reasonable and generous as possible.
