This is the most economical way to purchase Platiquemos, and another part of our unique dedication to use technology to bring Platiquemos to people who want to learn Spanish at the lowest possible price.  Since we don't have to provide physical product or pay for shipment, we save both costs and trouble.  We are pleased to be able to pass these savings on to you, the customer; and in return you take on some of the work!  We believe (and hope), though, that the savings will make it worthwhile for some of you.

This version is practical for those who have a fairly fast internet connection (T-1, T-3, cable or adsl),.  Those who have a connection with a 56 kbs modem are welcome, too, but they should bear in mind that, even "zipped" the files are pretty big.  The complete program optimized for download is almost 1,5 gigabytes.  Once you've downloaded and "unzipped" the files, you'll have mp3 files for the audio and Adobe Acrobat files for the text--the same files as in the "digital" version on CD.  We recommend that you transfer the files to compact disk so that they won't be lost if your computer has problems.

Perhaps the most efficient way to use the audio portion of the Platiquemos program is in its mp3 format either on a "Walkman" type device, or through your car´s sound system. or with an i-pod or similar device.  This enables you to take advantage of otherwise wasted time: commuting, waiting for a flight, etc.  To do that, of course, you need either an mp3 player, or an mp3 capable cd player.  Amazon.com has a good selection.

The "download" files are housed on "Filesanywhere.com".  When you make your purchase, a "share" account will be created for you (that is, for your e-mail address), and instructions for accessing the files will be sent to you by e-mail from Platiquemosyahoo.com.  This requires us, after receiving notification of your order from PayPal,  to manually set up a file share account for you. This may at times take a few hours, so please don't be too impatient.  

Note for those with dial-up connections to the internet:
If you have done any downloading, you have an idea of how fast you can download.  For example, if your sustained download speed is 5 kbs (kilobytes per second), it would take over eight hours to download Level I.  While we don't want to discourage anyone from taking advantage of the download savings, it might be a good idea for those with dial-up connections to consider the "digital" version.

Even if you don't have a fast internet connection at home or at work, you may be able to download the Program.  We suggest you try Kinko's (or a similar store), or a cybercafe if there's one in your area.  They might very well allow you (for a reasonable fee) to use their equipment to download and save to compact disk(s) or DVD.
