In many cases, a good small
class with a competent instructor following a structured program is the
best solution, particularly for beginners. We are, therefore,
attempting to form networks of schools and/or private teachers, both in
the U.S. and abroad. If you know of anyone who would be interested
in forming classes (this doesn't need to be a teacher, they can be hired
and easily trained), please let us know.

This
poor guy didn't take our advice about choosing a school, and wound up
involuntarily participating in an historical reenactment.
Another
of my lies. Actually, this represents the burning at the stake of Cacique
("Chief") Hatuey of the peaceful Taino tribe of
Cuba. When he was offered an easier death (strangling instead of
burning), and the assurance of going to heaven if he would accept
conversion to Christianity, it is said that he asked
if there would be Spaniards in heaven. When told there would be,
he answered that in that case he's just as soon go to hell, thank you
very much. |

Platiquemos is unique in
that it is the only Spanish language course that has been optimized for
both self study and study in a class with an instructor.
This
is very important, since even an excellent class, without a structure to
move ahead after the class is finished, means that instead of being built
on, what was learned in the class will be in large part forgotten.
